Description

Our 2018 Chardonnay was crafted from a low-yielding vineyard in the Carneros AVA that consistently produces some of the region’s best Chardonnay grapes. Cool misty mornings and warm breezy afternoons make this vineyard site exceptional for growing Chardonnay. This well-structured wine displays a delicate balance between oak/butter and crisp acidity. This wine offers delicate aromas of citrus, jasmine and apple with a slight hint of pear, pineapple and toasted sourdough. The citrus and stone fruit flavors are complemented by a bright acidity. The mid-palate displays a creamy texture that balances beautifully with citrus flavors and integrated oak. The grapes were harvested in September 2018 and aged in 50% new French oak for 10 months. We suggest this wine be served in a Burgundy style glass at 45 degrees. The large bowl and narrow rim are necessary to aerate and concentrate aromas. It won a Double Gold Medal in the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and a Silver Medal in the 2019 San Francisco International Wine Competition.
