2018 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Carneros
Description
Our 2018 Pinot Noir is crafted from an outstanding vineyard in the Carneros AVA, where cool misty mornings and warm afternoon breezes produce ideal conditions for premium Pinot Noir. Grapes from this vineyard are consistently rich and complex with intense flavors. This wine displays intense aromas of red fruit (cherry, strawberry and plum) layered with white pepper, clove and vanilla bean. On the palate, flavors of raspberry, cherry, blueberry and a touch of caramel are displayed. The oak is beautifully integrated with a long, elegant finish. The grapes were harvested in September 2018 and aged in 35% new French oak for 10 months. We suggest this wine be served in a Burgundy style glass at 60 degrees. The large bowl and narrow rim are necessary to aerate and concentrate aromas. This wine, like its prior vintages, won a Double Gold Medal in the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and a Silver Medal in the San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Description | 2017 Pinot Noir Crickism #1 Never try to fit in as we were all born to stand out... | A medium body flavor featuring fruity notes of green apple and pear. It also has subtle hints of ginger and nutmeg. Featuring a golden honey color. | 2018 Knock On Wood: 100% Chardonnay, all stainless-steel and no malolactic fermentation. Procured from hillside vineyards in Yamhill-Carlton AVA, reminiscent of the grand crus of Burgundy's Cote d'Or. It benefited from a very long and cold fermentation - almost two months - resulting in a lean and mean wine with perfume of honeydew melon and pear surfing huge waves of minerals, bringing a nice tide of racy starfruit to the finish. | Inviting aromas of ripe apricot, peach, orange peel, and jasmine flowers jump from the glass. Beautifully balanced sugar and acid make this wine rich and refreshing. Enjoy this wine with a spicy curry, soft cheeses, fresh fruits, or your favorite pie. The grapes were hand harvested and carefully pressed. The resulting juice went through a clean and cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks for twelve days. No time in oak and no malo-lactic fermentation; this wine was made in the vineyard.
| A delightful red blend, that is the namesake of the beach where Phil and Debra were married. The label is literally “moonstones” that they found on Moonstone Beach, and formed into a heart to tie in with the other labels. A off dry blend (1.5%) residual sugar) of 48% Grenache, 29% Zinfandel, and 23% Petite Sirah.
