Description | A moment may last for a few seconds, but the memory can stay with you forever. Whether it’s a kiss goodbye on a train platform or the revelation of an idea that has long evaded you, moments are ready to be experienced all around if only you seek them out. Wichita Moment, a semi-sweet white wine, is that idea from Jenny Dawn Cellars at Union Station, a place where your moments are minutes away. Bringing the winemaking experience from a rural setting into the urban core of downtown Wichita, it is your reprieve from the business of busy-ness, and your time to bloom. | Eye Purple garnet core, rose rim. Nose Savory roasted herbs, sour cherry, ruby red grapefruit, alpine forest. Palate Textured, layered, grippy tannins. | Eye Dark crimson core with ruby rim. Nose Yarrow, barnyard, earth, embers, herbs, peat moss, blewit mushrooms, Tootsie roll, wet clay. Time in glass reveals savory baking spices and roasted meat on open fire. Palate Full body, jammy core, mid-palate punch dissipates slowly. | 2018 Knock On Wood: 100% Chardonnay, all stainless-steel and no malolactic fermentation. Procured from hillside vineyards in Yamhill-Carlton AVA, reminiscent of the grand crus of Burgundy's Cote d'Or. It benefited from a very long and cold fermentation - almost two months - resulting in a lean and mean wine with perfume of honeydew melon and pear surfing huge waves of minerals, bringing a nice tide of racy starfruit to the finish. | This vintage of Pinot Blanc follows other award winning vintages, including the 2017 which won “Best White Wine” in the Livermore Valley, at the 2018 Tri-Valley Uncorked Wine Competition, and “Best Overall Pairing at last years ”Taste our Terroir”, Livermore Valley’s premier food and wine competition. This medium bodied Pinot Blanc boasts aromas of white peach, citrus, melon and honey. This bright and racy wine brings a fresh creaminess adding fullness to the mouth feel with a soft and creamy mid-palate. A long finish brings the whole experience together with just a touch of stone fruit and minerals. Serve slightly chilled, with the following suggested pairings: Scallops sautéed in lemon butter with zest of citrus and lime, grilled prawns, fish tacos, clam steamers, or just about any seafood.
